Riwruok Kinda e Teko Women Group is located at Ramogi Village in Upper Nyakach location of Nyakach Constituency in Kisumu County. The group was registered in August 2001. It has a membership of 10 (male 1, Female 14). 90% of the members are elderly women who are hell bent in ensuring their orphaned grandchildren get decent education and livelihood. All the members live within Ramogi village off Holo stage along Katito - Kisii road.



The group was registered in 2001 with the aim of bringing women in the community together and empowering them by engaging in pottery business.

The current activity of the group is pottery.

The secretary says “over the years WEF has partnered with us and transformed us from small scale potters to real time potters who are producing many pots to sell locally and to markets outside the sub- county“

Currently the group earns an average of Ksh.20,000 monthly from its pottery business. Additionally they also do horticulture farming which also gives a quarterly return of approximately Ksh.30,000. They did also purchased two motor bikes and have employed two young men to operate. The motorbikes also assist them in transportation of the pots to the market.

All the 15 members are actively employed by the group while additional people are employed as casuals when need arises.


They are currently servicing a loan of ksh.350,000. They used the loan to expand their existing activities.


With expected funding, group members will build a kiln with a capacity of baking 50 pots at once hence increase their pot production. This will boost members’ monthly incomes making them more stable economically and socially.
