Capacity Building

Capacity building is the second mandate of the which has not only been very critical in ensuring women are running sustainable enterprises but also promptly repaying their loans. The Fund has been underrating business skills training since 2011 and has registered tremendous success. The trainings are offered by the Assistant Credit Officers who are based in every Constituency and are Trained Trainers. Besides the Entrepreneurship training which seeks to sharpen business skills, the Fund also offers Value addition trainings targeting agriculture value chains in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.

a. Entrepreneurship training

This is a three-day intensive training using the approved WEF Training Manual and the trainees are awarded with training certificates. This training is mandatory to be eligible for WEF funding.

b. Value chain training:

Value addition training was initiated in 2017 after appreciating the need to promote women participation in manufacturing or production sectors. It targets growth-oriented businesses by women. Majority of beneficiaries are in Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries.

Cognizant of the fact that women are time poor, the Fund intends to introduce a high impact brief training targeting the core financial literacy areas. The training kit captures critical financial skills such as budgeting, keeping records or bookkeeping, and debt/credit management. It also targets to improve SHGs management through group dynamics. It is a practical numeracy tool for entrepreneurs to strengthen their basic business and financial skills.
